KCBS BBQ Competition
The Rocket City BBQ Cook-Off and WhistleStop Festival is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Sanctioning insures that a high standard of judging criteria is used to determine our winners.
The KCBS division is for the pros. Put your skills to the test and see if you can win the $3000 grand prize. Categories include Pork, Pork Ribs, Chicken, Beef Brisket, and Dessert.
Kids Q Competition
The “WhistleStop Kid’s Q” BBQ event pits children from the ages of 8 -12 in a contest to see who can BBQ the best chicken in North Alabama. All Teams will be provided with a BBQ Grill, Charcoal & 8 pieces of Chicken Thighs.

People's Choice Awards
The People's Choice Awards is just that... the best BBQ as determinded by the people.
Visit over 40 of our Shadetree Cooking teams offering samples for your consideration and vote with dollar bills, pocket change…even checks! The team with the most money wins! In light of recent events affecting our community and state, proceeds from the People’s Choice voting will be donated to the Red Cross.
